Lower Limb Assessment Masterclass

Program Description

This hybrid micro-credential combines everything clinicians need to assess and treat lower limb wounds — in one integrated, practice-based course. You’ll gain in-depth knowledge in both Venous/Mixed Arterial-Venous leg ulcers and Neuropathic/Diabetic foot ulcers, with a full-day, hands-on lab — plus online pre-learning.

Benefits:
How to clinically reason through lower limb wounds and vascular issues.

Hospital transfers for preventable lower-limb issues are costing your home — in funding, staff time, and resident outcomes.

The Lower Limb Masterclass equips your nursing team to confidently manage high-risk lower limb conditions within scope, reducing unnecessary hospital visits and specialist call-outs.

Why This Matters:
Every avoidable transfer impacts:
Case mix index stability
Quality indicators
Infection and wound statistics
Staff workload and agency costs
Resident/family satisfaction scores
When your team can assess and intervene early, you protect residents.

You’ll get:
• Live in-person skills lab – ABPI, TBPI, Doppler, compression, offloading, and dressing selection ( with industry rep's hosting the demonstration with the instructor).
• Live mentorship – expert guidance
• Small class size
• No prerequisites
• Locally accessible

The program integrates wound care theory with live clinical practice — giving you the confidence to use your skills where they’re needed most.

Why Take This Program?
• Two wound types, one course: Treat both venous leg ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers in a single certificate.
• Hands-on, real-world training: Practice Doppler use, ABPI, TBPI, compression, offloading, and dressing selection — with live mentorship and real equipment.
• Live skills lab: Full day of in-person demonstration and instruction in Mississauga.
• Flexible and accessible: One week of online pre-learning then a live lab.
• Formulary-aligned: Learn with the products used in Ontario Health at Home and local care settings.
