Program Description

Wound Care Level 2 builds on the micro-credential based foundational principles established in Level 1, offering advanced strategies for managing wounds in complex clinical scenarios. This course provides an in-depth exploration of wound etiology and the multifactorial challenges that impact healing, including infection, chronic conditions, and delayed interventions. Special focus is given to understanding the role of social determinants of health, enabling participants to address the systemic barriers faced by diverse patient populations effectively.

Through case-based discussions and interactive virtual sessions, participants will refine their clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills. The course emphasizes innovative approaches to treatment, equipping learners with advanced techniques to navigate challenging wound care situations with confidence. By the end of this program, participants will have the knowledge and tools to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care in even the most complex wound care scenarios.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of Wound Care Level 2, participants will be able to: 1.Analyze and address complex wound care challenges, including chronic and atypical wounds. 2.Implement advanced assessment techniques and interpret clinical findings. 3.Develop personalized, multifaceted treatment plans based on evidence-informed practices. 4.Apply advanced dressing techniques and evaluate their effectiveness. 5.Collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes.

Duration/Time Commitment

3 hrs/day over 4 days online

Fully Online - Live Instructor Led sessions

In addition to class time, one (1) hour of self study time per course day. This course includes a combination of self-directed learning and live interactive virtual sessions to facilitate deeper learning and engagement.

Requirements for Enrolment

This course is open to healthcare professionals who have successfully completed Level 1 Wound Care. It is designed for:
• Healthcare providers seeking advanced knowledge to address complex wound care scenarios.
• Professionals committed to improving outcomes for patients with chronic or multifactorial wounds.

This program is offered in English. It is your responsibility to ensure you meet the language requirements. You may be asked to demonstrate language proficiency.
